serious? but thats stupid, how can i put up a link to the background if it doesnt even look anything like it anymore, its mostly painted.
I wish it was easier to make art sometimes, thats why i started my own model stock, because models mostly ask not for commercial use...not to use outside DA..blah blah and now i have to keep every link from every bit i use? naaaaah...
that is not fun...but

If it's a reference, you still have to link to the origional, pretty much. Last time I check, DA didn't care for laziness too much. I love it when artists link back to the origional stock. What if I wanted to use it? In my opinion it shows you care for the stock artist enough to link back properly :)
